One New Thing a Week

I’ve been deep into the health podcast world. I listen when I clean, cook or walk. I’ve been listening to hours and hours of content about health and all the amazing things one can do in the day to feel better. My main source of inspiration is Andrew Huberman. The only catch is, I don’t love listening to his podcasts. They are too long and too in-depth. Do I really want a 2.5 hour episode on caffeine? No, I don’t. BUT, I discovered if I listen to him being interviewed on another podcast I can get his information in a more concise way and in more bite-sized pieces.

From this I have gathered many habits I want to implement in my life. That gets me to the next point. Overwhelm. I get overwhelmed by how many things I want to do! And so little time. But I also know that I can make time, I just need to start the habits and see where it takes me. My idea is this, one new habit per week, and I will record my experience here. Side-note, do people even blog anymore? I know I should be doing this on Tik-Tok or something, but I don’t thrive well on social media. That could be a whole other post. Moving on! Here are the habits I would like to implement in my daily life. This is of no particular order.

Daily Habits

  • Morning sunlight – for me I’d like this to be on a walk first thing in the morning for 10-20 minutes (now if only the March weather would turn more pleasant for this)
  • Seven minutes of the rebounder (so good for the lymph nodes!)
  • Streamline my supplements. It’s too easy to go overboard
  • 150 minutes zone B exercise a week
  • Weight lifting 3X a week (45 mins or so)
  • One day of 90 seconds (2-3 times) of intense cardio. Yes, you read that right, just 90 seconds times 2 or 3!
  • One cold bath a week (eek) and cold showers (total of 11 mins a week)
  • Sauna (50 mins total)
  • Protein, I’d like to track this and get it up higher
  • Sleep before 10pm. I could do a whole article on sleep.
  • Some food eliminations to see how my gut and skin do.

This is a start. How do I do it all you ask? Well, we shall see! I am sure I will think of more to add to this list as well. What first habit should I start with? I am thinking seven minutes on the rebounder. This seems like a good, reasonable option to start. First step, I will move the rebounder back to my room and do it in the AM after waking. I can listen to a podcast or music. Easy. I will report back!
